Pamper your Feet — The 6 Best Motifs for Holiday Toenail Art
Our salon uses cutting-edge products and methods, and always strives to offer the most fashionable and enjoyable experience around. Come the holidays, though, things take a turn for the super-fun.
We love nothing better than combining fashion with seasonal sparkle, which is why we’ve compiled a list of the six best motifs for holiday toenail art this winter. Of course, you can feel free to use any of these ideas for your fingers as well – we’re always happy to accommodate!
‘Tis the season for pretty white snowflakes. When going with a snowflake motif, it’s important to choose a background color against which the white will stand out. We recommend reds both bright and deep, greens, midnight blues, blacks, raisin or plum hues, and dark gold. Stay away from sparkle, which will detract from the actual snowflakes.
Ombres are great at any time of year, but the holidays present many opportunities for glitter and gleam. An ombre (which can also be done on hair) melds one color seamlessly into the next, resulting in a smoothly transitioned final product. Combining silver with gold, red with green, and metallics with blacks and whites are all good options.
Or you might go for another color entirely for your French tip or the bed of the nail. Toenails are a fun place to do a tip in red or green, since there’s lots of space to work with on the big toe.
There is no better time of year than the holidays to add a little sparkle to your nails. Choose one or two toes on which to place gems so they don’t become overwhelming.
Bows are a classic holiday motif, and work for all nail bed sizes. It’s a simple matter of making a cross with white paint against a dark background (or dark colors against a light background), then adding a little bow and ribbon tails. Or you can just paint a bow on a plain surface.
