32 Make Up Tips to Enhance your Spa Treatments

belleza_post-19 Going to the spa is a great way to transform your skin with a variety of exciting treatments. But the beauty tips you follow afterwards are important to maintain your skin’s perky and beautiful appearance. Here are 32 makeup tips for beginners to help you flaunt gorgeous skin that will fool people into thinking you just left the spa.

1. Use Vitamin C

Vitamin C boosts the skin’s collagen, so it’s vital if you want to maintain a younger complexion. A topical serum containing Vitamin C should be applied after exfoliating treatments and before your makeup. Bonus: it boosts sun protection, too.

2. Go Natural!

You don’t need makeup after a reviving facial treatment, such as a Flash Beauty Facial, so go au natural. If you simply must apply a bit of makeup, do so with lip color and a dab of eye shadow, but leave your skin free to bask in its new radiance.

3. Glow On

Don’t you love the way your skin glows after a glycolic peel treatment? Keep it going – and glowing – with a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks. Choose a light coral tone if you have pale skin and a deep orange for darker skin.

4. Apply it Lightly

If you’ve had an acne treatment and want to prevent future breakouts, apply your makeup with light strokes. If you press or stretch your skin, this can irritate it. You should also wash your makeup brushes twice a week to prevent bacteria from sneaking in.

5. Laugh without the Lines!

Laugh lines (or nasolabial folds) can be reduced with laser skin tightening but you don’t want to bring them into the spotlight again with heavy powder makeup. Here’s a tip: use a small brush to apply concealer that has light-reflecting properties to these lines and blend it well.

6. Draw Attention Away From Your Chin

If your double chin feels like it gets in the way of beautiful facial treatments, pull attention away from it by applying a foundation that’s slightly darker than your skin under your lower jawbone and around your neck. Work your way down to your neckline so it looks blended and keeps your chin nicely out of view.

7. Look Rejuvenated Long After Your Spa Date

When you step out of the spa, you feel like you’ve just returned from a holiday that left your skin polished and beautiful. Continue to look rejuvenated on your face by applying a bronzer with a powder brush in the shape of the number ‘3’ across your forehead, cheeks and jaw. It also serves to slim your face.

8. Keep it Fresh

Maintain your skin’s freshness by adding some luminizing highlighter to your regular foundation before you apply it to your skin.

9. Pack up Pigmentation

Anti-pigmentation treatments can be enhanced in-between sessions by using products such as dark spot correctors. Make sure they contain ingredients such as lactic and citric acids to boost cell turnover so that you shed pigmented skin.

10. Use Soft Eyeliner

Switch your liquid eyeliner for a pencil to create feathery strokes that are much gentler on your skin, preventing any fine lines in your eye area from standing out.

11. Frame Your Face

When you’ve undergone a spa treatment to tighten or brighten your skin, you don’t want droopy eyebrows to ruin the look! Correctly shape your eyebrow arches. They should reach their highest points above the outer circle of your eye’s iris and be just on your brow bone. Use an eye pencil to make a dot at that point, then pluck away strands underneath all along your brow.

12. Balm Your Blush

A blush product that contains a lip balm consistency illuminates your cheeks without the drying effect of powder, which is especially important after a spa treatment when you want light strokes of makeup that give you dewy freshness without the heaviness.

13. Lift Your Eyes

If you have eyelids that look tired, fix them fast by lining your upper lashes with a creamy black eye pencil and then smudging it out in a flick.

14. Lighten Your Dark Circles

Dark circles ruin glowing skin! Use a cream concealer that slides on easily. It should have a peachy tone if your dark circles look brown/yellow, and yellow if they look blue.

15. Hydrate Your Lips

Hydrating lip treatments are great to moisturize your lips, but maintain their result by applying lip balm before lipstick every time. Also, wear light and sheer colors that keep your lips looking and feeling soft.

16. Illuminate!

After airbrush tanning, maintain your skin’s softness and sun-kissed glow by using moisturizers religiously. Avoid ones with fragrance, however, as these can be irritating to the skin and your tan.

17. Maintain Your Brows

After having your eyebrows professionally waxed, keep them neat by brushing them upwards with an eyebrow brush. Use pencil if you need to fill them in after an impromptu tweezing session so that they look fabulous until your next wax.

18. Keep Cellulite Away

Cellulite treatments are great to get rid of that horrid orange peel on your skin, but maintain the results by using a bronzing gel and concealer between treatments. These help to disguise cellulite while giving your skin a smoother, radiant tone.

19. Buy a CC Cream

Replace your foundation with a CC cream – it glides on easier for smoother application and isn’t oily so you don’t have to fear breakouts.

20. Prime Your Skin

Before you think of applying foundation, use a primer. It sinks into fine lines and wrinkles, allowing a smoother, longer-lasting makeup finish.

21. Redo Your Top Coat

Keep your manicure or pedicure looking fabulous by applying a top coat to them a few days afterwards. This boosts shine and protects your nails from scuffs.

22. Be Hands-On

Moisturizing your skin and cuticles is important to maintain your gorgeous mani. Do it daily!

23. Get Fabulous Fruity Skin!

After exfoliation treatments, keep your skin young and protected against the elements with products that contain grapeseed and green tea. They’re packed with nourishing antioxidants.

24. Sneak in the SPF

Choose beauty products that contain SPF so that you don’t skimp on sun protection. After treatments such as peels and anti-pigmentation facials, this is especially important as skin becomes more sensitive.

25. Skip the Powder

Avoid powder after foundation as this can dry out your skin. If you have to apply it, only sprinkle it on your T-zone – your forehead, nose and chin – where oil accumulates.

26. Plump up Your Pout

Since lips tend to thin with age, plump them up with his trick after an anti-aging procedure so that you look younger: apply foundation to your lips then use a lip liner before applying lipstick with a brush from the middle of your lips to the edges. Dab a lighter shade of lipstick onto the middle of your bottom lip. Finish off with gloss to enlarge your pout.

27. Step into Softness

Don’t let rough heels make your gorgeous pedicure look bad. Soak your feet in warm water and use a pumice stone to gently rub off dead skin. Finish off with a moisturizing lotion.

28. Massage Puffiness Away

Give yourself a luxurious massage that boosts circulation and decreases puffiness. You should also take five minutes to massage moisturizer into your face well during your daily skin routine. If your face is relaxed, this also makes your makeup go on smoother.

29. Nourish Your Skin

Maintaining healthy skin is a must – it’s a great foundation for future spa treatments. When applying products, first apply the one with the thinnest consistency and finish off with the thickest. This prevents thick creams from blocking absorption of the thinner ones so that all their nutritious ingredients will be absorbed properly.

30. Zap a Sneaky Zit

If it should happen that you get a pimple, don’t pop it as this will cause redness and ruin your pretty complexion. Use a concealer that contains salicylic acid to cover and treat pimples. Dab it on with a pointed brush for perfect application.

31. Use Shimmery Cream Eye Shadow

Leading stressful lives can easily make us look tired a few days after a spa treatment. Use products with sheen on your eyes to instantly look refreshed. Make sure you match it to your skin tone. If you have a cool undertone, opt for a jewel shade. If your skin has a warm tone, go for gold.

32. Rejuvenate with Rose

If copper bronzer looks too harsh, opt for a rose one instead. It complements all skin tones and brightens you up until you have time to head to the spa.

Use these makeup tips to look younger and more fabulous between luxurious salon appointments. It will look like you never left!
