Beautify Miami Permanent Makeup, The Do’s and Don’ts

If permanent makeup rings the “Vampira eyebrows” bell in your head, if you’re thinking badly tattooed lips and shaky-hand eyeliner, you’ve been seeing the wrong people and clicking on those sketchy tabloid titles again. Find out in this Beautify Miami permanent makeup series how to achieve the right  look!

This is how we know: when permanent makeup goes right, you can’t tell it’s permanent. It doesn’t make the headlines. It’s just there, looking like regular makeup or looking like nothing at all. In that last case, what you think you’re seeing is the lips, nose, eyes and eyebrows.

What you’re actually seeing is an upgraded version of that. Fuller eyebrows, more defined lips and eyes that pop.

With permanent makeup, it all starts with the level of professionalism behind the whole look. Get that right, and you already have a head start.

Now that we got that out of the way, the real question is: could it be for me? Am I a creature of comfort who doesn’t want to paint her eyebrows at 7 o’clock in the morning, before heading for work, five days per week? Or am I a fun-loving butterfly who hates looking the same all the time?

No, this is not a quiz. But, when you’re done reading, you will be able to tell if permanent makeup is the right way to go for you.

The Question’s, The Answer

The most important thing to know is WHY. Why are you considering getting it done?

Many women think putting on their makeup mask every single day is a drag. Others are forced to change their beauty rituals because something has come up. Elizabeth Dosoretz, blogger and founder of According To Dna, speaks for most mothers when confessing her struggles as a mother of 3 young boys.

“But, each morning, as I face the day with new resolve (and a big mug of coffee), I am sad to say that those five to ten minutes are nearly impossible to find. I have looked everywhere for the quick fix and for the magic solution to my rushed and frenzied days,” Elizabeth told the Huffington Post.

On the other end of the spectrum, some women are forced to reconstruct parts of their faces because of medical problems or beauty mistakes from the past. “It took me about 20 minutes every morning to pencil in my eyebrows after they were overplucked when I was 23 and they never grew back,” confessed Caroline Kim, a 35-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco.

A Sea Of Possibilities

Now that you know what the issue is, the second questions arises: is what I need done POSSIBLE?

This is a really good question, because, in the realm of permanent makeup, there’s a limit to your dreams and expectations (sorry).

Want more defined lips? Sure. Fuller eyebrows? Cool. Permanent eyeliner for your eyes? Doable. Contoured face? Yikes! Rosy cheeks? Better go for a run.

Basically, permanent makeup starts with a fine line and ends with a well defined pigmentation. If you’re looking for a way to make your favorite smokey eye long-lasting, maybe you should just keep to dark places and get a subtle permanent eyeliner instead.

Other Faces, Other Plans

Last, but definitely not least, it’s all about your personality. While most women have no problem with a bit of face-magic that’s constantly there, others may find it a bit unmysterious. And a bit repetitive.

The cool thing about it, though, it’s that the permanent in “permanent makeup” is a big fat lie. In fact, lovelies, nothing’s permanent in the land of beauty. Laser hair removal isn’t permanent and neither is makeup.

Ultimately, it’ll fade away. Slowly, but surely, you’ll be back to your old self again (we are by no means claiming you are old!). And then you get to decide what’ll it be: no makeup, the same makeup or a whole new one.

In the end, it’s all about what you think is right.

Permanent makeup is a great way to get that daily hassle out of the way. It’s also a great procedure for people who have undergone medical procedures that have altered the way they look.

Done right, it’s wonderful. Done wrong, it’s a mess.
